Developing a Mobile Application Curriculum Which Empowers Authentic & Personalized Learning Experiences This presentation will outline strategies for designing and implementing a curriculum in mobile applications using multiple platforms. Project outcomes and instructional models based on authentic and personalized learning experiences will drive this presentation. Implementing a Project Based Mobile Development Curriculum asks students to develop projects that can be used in the “real world” and enables students to envision, design and test mobile projects which reflect their real world use of technology. As mobile development curriculum continues to evolve, the connection between developing mobile applications and students creating their own personalized learning goals with mobile technology will allow students to create rich learning experiences for their own design. This presentation will outline possible tools for mobile development, rubrics for student assessment of mobile technology and strategies for integrating real world authentic learning opportunities.

Teachers will demonstrate how to harness ASSISTments to provide immediate feedback to students. The word “ASSISTments” blends tutoring “assistance” with “assessment” reporting data. We will share the data and show how we used it to influence our students’ outcomes in math. These reports are invaluable for the instructional process.

Common Core and iPads: an easy early elementary combination. This workshop will look at several K-2 student-tested technology activities across the curriculum. Learn about tried,true essential apps, view lesson examples and ideas for those apps, and pick up tips for printing and sharing student work.

With the new evaluation program focusing on student growth, teachers increasingly look to tools that help them track and manage student progress. Evernote, with its multi-platform feature, is the solution for one literacy teacher. Learn how to use Evernote to track students’ progress, manage student data and directly record students.

This presentation will outline a three year district plan demonstrating the connection between the two departments over time and the ability to move the district forward more rapidly because of that connection. Specific details that will be reviewed include: teacher evaluation, curriculum including online texts, community connections, BYOD, digital citizenship, data driving instruction and goal setting and more!
